Ezee Fiber, GoNetspeed, Metronet, Pavlov Media, TDS Telecom and Wire 3 are all expanding broadband in various communities through a mix of venture capital and state funding sources.

Astound’s Newport, Oregon fiber network will serve 5.9K area homes and businesses
Astound has completed construction of Newport, Oregon's first fiber network, bringing the community’s more than 5,000 homes, along with 900 business and commercial locations, access to symmetrical internet speeds of up to 5 Gbps. The service provider invested $4.6 million to complete approximately 55 miles of new fiber infrastructure throughout Newport. Along with all homes in the community, the area’s ‘anchor institutions,’ such as government buildings, schools, fire houses, libraries, and clinics, can also access the network. In addition, Astound has included more than 300 South Beach area homes in the fiber build, upgrading existing hybrid fiber-coaxial (HFC) to fiber. Astound engineered the network with a combination of above- and below-ground construction. Having acquired CoastCom, a longstanding provider of commercial and enterprise services throughout the Newport community and local government in September 2016, Astound has been in the Newport area for nearly a decade.

Ezee Fiber brings fiber to three new Texas communities
Ezee Fiber continues to enhance its fiber reach, beginning construction in three new Texas cities: Dayton, Liberty, Brookshire and Kenefick. With construction expected to continue until 2026, Ezee Fiber is committed to ensuring that homes and businesses will have the foundational next-generation network in place as soon as practical. The high-speed internet expansion throughout the greater Houston region is being funded by Ezee Fiber.

GoNetspeed launches Stratford, Connecticut, fiber build
GoNetspeed has officially launched construction to deliver fiber internet access to over 12,400 homes and businesses in Stratford, Connecticut. Backed by GoNetspeed’s $7 million privately funded investment, this expansion marks a step toward enhancing connectivity throughout the community. With infrastructure built to support multi-gigabit speeds, GoNetspeed’s ultra-fast fiber internet is expected to begin connecting consumers later this fall. Stratford joins other Connecticut communities, including Ansonia, Bridgeport, Danbury, East Haven, New Haven, Hartford, and more than 40 additional communities in gaining access to GoNetspeed’s service.

Metronet embarks on $48M Jackson, Michigan fiber build
Metronet announced a major infrastructure investment to expand its fiber network to the Michigan communities of Jackson, Summit, Vandercook Lake and Blackman Township. Backed by a $48 million private investment, the project will deliver access to multigigabit internet speeds to tens of thousands of homes and businesses. The network will provide service to consumers and microbusinesses via T-Mobile Fiber, in addition to businesses and bulk MDU complexes, which will be under the Metronet brand. Construction on the new network is slated to begin this month, with buildout progressing across multiple neighborhoods in the coming months. Besides Jackson, construction is either in progress or complete in more than 40 Michigan communities, including Lansing, Grand Rapids and Portage.

Pavlov Media expands fiber network to Illinois' Will and Cook Counties
Pavlov Media is expanding its fiber Internet network throughout Will and Cook Counties, Illinois—bringing high-speed Internet to thousands of homes. Construction is now underway. The project is part of Pavlov Media's ongoing investment in Illinois infrastructure, following successful network builds in nearby communities, inlcuding Monee, Peotone, and Manteno. Campus Communications Group (CCG), Pavlov Media's construction division specializing in broadband infrastructure, will handle the full planning, design, and construction process throughout both counties. When construction is complete, residents will enjoy up to 8 Gbps, no data caps, no installation or modem fees, and 24/7 local technical support with Pavlov Media.

TDS Telecom to fiberize its entire Kentucky footprint
TDS Telecommunications has started work on a major network upgrade project in Kentucky, with construction now active in Hyden, Bledsoe, and Salem. The initial phase of a multi-year upgrade project marks the start of a broader initiative to upgrade the entire TDS network in Kentucky to advanced fiber technology and bring connectivity to the Bluegrass State. Future builds are planned for the Buckhorn, Dwarf, Lewisport, Stinnett, and Wooten areas. The upgrades come, thanks to a combination of TDS investment and support from the FCC's Enhanced Alternative Connect America Cost Model (E-ACAM) program. TDS’ fiber infrastructure delivers up to 8 Gbps symmetrical connections available in some locations. The new internet speeds will launch to customers in phases as sections of the network are completed. Build work for addresses included in TDS’ E-ACAM build will be completed by the end of December 2028.
