Fidium, Glo Fiber, GoNetspeed, Oso Internet Solutions, Ripple Fiber, Silo Communications, Spectrum and Xfinity are using various funding sources to expand broadband access to more communities.

Glo Fiber lights up its 100,000th customer
Glo Fiber has reached 100,000 fiber broadband customers. To mark the milestone, the company recognized Sonnya and Steve White of Suffolk, Virginia, as its 100,000th customer. This achievement reflects Glo Fiber’s strong customer momentum and ongoing expansion of its fiber internet service to homes and businesses across its footprint.

Fidium expands high-speed fiber network to Rumford, Maine
Fidium has expanded its all‑fiber internet service in Rumford and the surrounding communities, including Hanover and Mexico. Fidium brings fiber‑to‑the‑home (FTTH) access to more than 3,600 residents and businesses, with additional locations planned to be connected later this year. Fidium representatives will be visiting the community over the coming weeks to share more information about service options and availability, participate in local events, and stop by individual homes and businesses with fiber access.

GoNetspeed launches first Oneonta, NY customers
GoNetspeed has launched its Fiber Internet service in Oneonta, bringing connectivity to more than 4,800 homes and businesses across the community. Backed by a $4.5 million investment, residents now have access to fast, reliable, symmetrical speeds designed to support everything from remote work and streaming to everyday connectivity needs. As GoNetspeed continues to expand its fiber network across New York and the Northeast, Oneonta now joins more than 30 New York communities already served by the company, including Buffalo, Geneva, Lockport, and Utica. The company’s recent $4 million investment in Norwich further strengthens its statewide presence, with additional communities continuing to come online as GoNetspeed expands its footprint throughout the region.

Oso Internet Solutions brings fiber broadband to the remote Navajo community
Oso Internet Solutions is using Adtran’s broadband technology to bring high-speed connectivity to the Ramah Navajo Indian Reservation. The locally owned provider has built a fiber-led broadband network, combining robust infrastructure with flexible last-mile access to deliver consistent, reliable performance and support sustained growth in one of New Mexico’s most remote and underserved regions. Adtran is enabling Oso Internet Solutions to extend fiber connectivity to one of the USA’s most geographically challenging regions. This collaborative approach is helping to extend reliable internet services to homes, schools, healthcare providers, and local organizations, supporting economic opportunity and improving quality of life across the Ramah Navajo community.

Ripple Fiber completes $20M fiber infrastructure project in North Carolina’s Outer Banks
Ripple Fiber completed its fiber infrastructure project in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. The $20 million investment delivers reliable, high-speed fiber internet to over 20,000 homes and businesses across Kitty Hawk, Southern Shores, Duck, Kill Devil Hills, and Corolla, with additional expansion areas to be identified and built over time. The project began in late 2023, with service launching for the area’s first Ripple Fiber customers in January 2024. Currently, the provider has identified additional opportunities to develop in Corolla, primarily in multi-dwelling units and private communities.

Silo Communications expands fiber connectivity in rural areas
Silo Communications, a rural broadband provider based in northern Illinois, is using Adtran’s access portfolio and software applications to expand high-speed connectivity for underserved homes and businesses. As demand for reliable broadband continues to grow across communities, Silo Communications is building on its wireless heritage with a fiber network designed to support higher speeds, stronger service reliability and future expansion. The deployment supports wider state and federal efforts to extend high-speed connectivity to underserved rural areas, strengthening Silo Communications’ ability to connect residents, local enterprises and agricultural businesses that have historically had limited access to high-performance broadband. Silo Communications is deploying Adtran’s SDX fiber access platform to support high-performance connectivity from the access infrastructure into homes and businesses, and Adtran’s Mosaic software suite, which provides automation to streamline operations as the fiber footprint grows.

Spectrum launches gigabit broadband in Sumter County, Florida
Spectrum launched services to more than 275 homes and small businesses in Sumter County, Florida. The cable MSO’s multi-year rural construction initiative is driven by more than $7 billion in private investment from Spectrum. It will ultimately add 100,000 miles of fiber network infrastructure and deliver symmetrical, multi-gigabit internet access to more than 1.7 million new locations across the country.

Xfinity makes service available to over 1,500 Flagler Estates, Florida locations
Xfinity and Comcast Business services are now available to more than 1,500 homes and businesses in and around Flagler Estates in St. Johns County, including more than 1,100 previously unserved locations. Residents can visit Xfinity.com, and businesses should visit ComcastBusiness.com to see whether services are available at their specific location. They can also visit the Xfinity store in St. Johns County, located at 115 Jenkins St., Suite 101, St. Augustine, FL 32086, for assistance. The broadband infrastructure project was made possible through a public-private partnership with the state of Florida’s Broadband Opportunity Program and was completed ahead of schedule. Comcast’s expansion in Flagler Estates is part of the company’s latest investment in Florida, which also includes expansions to Lake CountyLeon County, and Nassau County.
