Concentric enhances its data center capabilities with CCI acquisition
Data center energy needs accelerate
A recent Linesight report says demand from AI workloads is reshaping procurement strategies and accelerating investment in power and cooling solutions. According to its Construction Market Insights Americas report, global construction consultancy Linesight forecasts that data center energy capacity will rise from 25 GW in 2024 to over 80 GW by 2030. The research firm said that “growth is fueled by an increase in data volume, computational power, and connectivity, driven by digital transformation, cloud adoption, and emerging technologies like artificial intelligence (AI).”
Concentric enhances its data center capabilities with CCI acquisition
The deal provides the company with additional power and cooling capacity to target data center customers.
Concentric, a power and maintenance provider, is acquiring Critical Components Inc. (CCI) to expand its data center infrastructure capabilities and service footprint.
Atlanta-based CCI provides critical power and precision cooling for data centers, industrial facilities, healthcare facilities, and other industries.
Leaders of both companies said the deal brings value as a combined entity.
John Winter, President and CEO of Concentric, said CCI brings “a one-stop platform for critical power and cooling services that data centers, utilities, and industrial users increasingly need across the U.S. and beyond.”
Scott Cockerham, founder and CEO of CCI, agreed and added that “Concentric gives us a broader footprint and the resources to scale for our customers’ growing requirements.”
As a combined company, Concentric and CCI can address the evolving infrastructure demands of the data center market with comprehensive critical power and cooling capabilities nationwide.
Concentric is hardly alone in its desire to bolster its data center powering capabilities. Dycom, a well-known construction provider for the telecommunications industry, announced a deal to acquire Power Solutions in December.
