Amphenol Network Solutions: FiberVault
Amphenol Network Solutions' FiberVault™ is a hyperscale optical distribution frame (ODF) engineered to help operators meet aggressive deployment timelines by enabling faster installations, reducing operational expenses, and protecting uptime in large-scale data center environments. With 5,760 splices per frame (11,520 back-to-back), FiberVault™ delivers record density in a compact footprint while minimizing service risk during Day-2 operations. Its pivoting shelves provide access while minimizing fiber movement compared to sliding shelves. Each shelf holds 48 splices within 6 hinged splice trays that further isolate the fibers, so only 16 splices are exposed at once to protect the most valuable network traffic. FiberVault™ also features an optical tracing system that positively identifies circuits using a standard Visual Fault Locator (VFL) light source transmitted via a third fiber in the jumper cable. This tracing can be done without opening the shelf, thanks to tracer windows at the front of the tray, which reduce troubleshooting time and eliminate unnecessary fiber exposure. Deployment costs and timelines are also reduced with pre-assembled, forklift-ready frames and universal breakout kits compatible with any rollable ribbon trunk.
Judge’s comment: “The system seems to be well designed, taking into account many aspects such as footprint, ease of use, and safety.”
