Arrayed Fiberoptics: Perforated Tube Fiber Protection Sleeve
Arrayed Fiberoptics’ fiber protection sleeve addresses the shortcomings of traditional fiber protection sleeves. Its structure consists of an outer tube (heat-shrinkable), an inner tube (hot-melt glue), and a reinforcement element next to the inner tube. The new fiber protection sleeve features a perforated metal tube with numerous through-holes formed via a sheet-metal process, offering low production cost and thermal conductivity. When in use, the optical fiber ribbon is inserted into the perforated tube, and then heat curing commences. The plastic in the hot-melt glue tube melts into a liquid, which is squeezed through the holes of the perforated tube by the heat-shrinkable tube and reconstitutes inside the perforated tube. With the cooled plastic surrounding all optical fibers securely, the optical fibers are protected by an optical fiber “protection cage" in 360° directions.
Judge’s comment: “An Innovative fiber protection tube for multi-fiber splices.”
