Coherent: 100G ZR QSFP28 Digital Coherent Optics Transceiver
Coherent’s 100G ZR QSFP28 DCO with low latency variation enables network providers to address applications with precise time synchronization across packet-based networks. The 100G ZR QSFP28 DCO with Active Ingress/Egress Latency Control enables Class C Precision Time Protocol on legacy hosts. No PTP communication to/from the module is required to achieve a +/-4 ns latency variation. Latency variation from high-speed SERDES, framing synchronization, mapping, and process/voltage/temperature variation can all be compensated for entirely within the QSFP28-DCO module thanks to the SteelertonTM DSP, a coherent DSP with active ingress/egress latency control. Enabling legacy hosts (routers/switches) to support Low Latency Variation is a key element of this feature's value proposition, allowing the reuse of 100G routers in new or additional applications.
