Bookham, Inc. has appointed Alain Couder as president and chief executive officer. Couder succeeds Peter Bordui, acting president and chief executive officer, who will continue to serve as chairman of the company’s board of directors. Couder was most recently president and CEO of Solid Information Technology Inc., a supplier of database solutions.

Vyyo Inc., a supplier of broadband access equipment for cable system operators, has selected David Feldman as the company’s chief technology officer. Feldman has more than 30 years of cable and technology experience, including positions with Charter Communications and Jones Intercable (now part of Comcast Corporation). With Vyyo, he will be responsible for the continued evolution of the company’s UltraBand spectrum overlay technology as a platform for new, revenue-generating advanced broadband services.

Nokia Siemens Networks has appointed Susan (Sue) Spradley to lead the company’s North America region. Spradley replaces Mark Louison, who earlier this year was named president of Nokia Inc., the mobile device manufacturer’s arm in the United States. Spradley is a 20-year veteran of the telecom industry and former president of Nortel Global Services and Operations.
