Wavecom Solutions, a Hawaiian-based information and communications technology provider of enterprise-level managed services and cloud-based offerings, has deployed the ADVA FSP 3000 in its network, according to ADVA Optical Networking. Wavecom has used ADVA Optical Networknig equipment since 2004.

The new deployment aims to reduce fiber constraints, consolidate transport and service requirements, provide 10-Gbps coverage, and connect a geographically diverse area. The service provider’s Hawaiian fiber-optic network comprises six-island sub-sea and terrestrial fiber connections. Besides providing point-to-point transport services up to 10 Gbps, the company also offers cloud computing with its WaveFlex service. Wavecom Solutions serves customers from a wide variety of sectors, including hospitality, education, healthcare, finance, automotive, construction, engineering, as well as carriers and service providers from a wholesale perspective.

“Simplicity is one of the keys to our network,” commented Simon Fiddian, CTO, Wavecom Solutions. “Our customers want a solution that just works and ADVA Optical Networking has been instrumental in helping us achieve that. In fact, we were able to deploy the ADVA FSP 3000 across multiple islands and sites in just three days. Being able to rapidly deploy and expand our network capacity so quickly is incredible. But it’s also the intelligence that the ADVA FSP 3000 offers that is vital. It enables us to increase the visibility into our network, ensuring that we can drive greater operational efficiencies and ultimately further value to the customer.”

“We know how important data accessibility is, especially in a geographically isolated area like the Hawaiian Islands,” commented John Scherzinger, senior vice president of sales in North America. “For enterprises in such remote areas, reliable and high-speed network connectivity is not simply a nice thing to have, it’s a business imperative. Since its inception, Wavecom Solutions has developed an incredible understanding of its customer needs and this is reflected in its network. This latest deployment further unites enterprises across the islands and offers an out-of-the-box solution.”
