Tinet and China Telecom Europe form partnership to provide Ethernet services in China and Europe
JANUARY 18, 2010 -- Tinet in Milan, Italy, and China Telecom Europe are forming a partnership provide Layer 2 Carrier Ethernet to more than 220 points of presence (POPs) in China, more than 70 POPs in Europe, and more than 15 POPs in other regions.
China Telecom aims to expand into Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The partnership will enable China Telecom customers to connect their offices through a standard Ethernet interface on a point-to-point or point-to-multipoint international Ethernet connectivity with speeds as fast as 1 Gbps.
CTExcelink International Ethernet Private Line (IEPL) is an end-to-end, managed bandwidth service based on next generation SDH/SONET transport service -- Multi Service Transport Platform (MSTP) with flexibility and security for LAN extension, WAN connection, and high traffic volume applications.
Tinet's Ethernet Extension is a Layer 2 service, with end-to-end VPLS support and bandwidth and latency guarantees, enabling the replacement of legacy IPLC and traditional VPN technologies with Layer 2 VPN.
Tinet's Ethernet Extension service delivers end-to-end connectivity down to the end-user buildings through Ethernet NNIs with local access providers. It aims at last mile connectivity.
