Vibrant Technologies to quit selling Fujikura fusion splicers resulting from lawsuit in U.S. District Court

January 19, 2010 -- Enterprise networking specialist Vibrant Technologies Inc. in Minneapolis has agreed to quit selling fusion splicers from fiber optic cable manufacturer Fujikura Ltd. in Tokyo under terms of 28 Dec. legal settlement in U.S. District Court in Concord, N.H., Fujikura announced today.

JANUARY 19, 2010 -- Enterprise networking specialist Vibrant Technologies Inc. in Minneapolis has agreed to quit selling fusion splicers from fiber optic cable manufacturer Fujikura Ltd. in Tokyo under terms of 28 Dec. legal settlement in U.S. District Court in Concord, N.H., Fujikura announced today.

Fujikura attorneys argued that Vibrant engineers modified Fujikura fusion splicers from their original manufactured condition. Financial and other terms of the settlement were not disclosed due to the confidentiality agreements.

Fujikura points out that AFL Telecommunications LLC in Duncan, S.C., a Fujikura subsidiary, is the only authorized agent in North America to distribute Fujikura fusion splicers.

Fujikura was able to file suit in U.S. District Court in New Hampshire because the company has another subsidiary, AFL Telecommunications Noyes Products located in Belmont, N.H.

Fujikura manufactures fiber optic products and other advanced technologies for the telecommunications, electronics, automotive industries. Vibrant Technologies buys and sells used IT hardware, shipping servers, storage, and networking equipment.
