Optical transport nodes

The s/dms TransportNode OC-48, OC-192, and hybrid OC-48/OC-192 networks now have multiple-wavelength optical add/drop multiplexing capability, which allows network operators to access any wavelength within the optical layer. In addition, the s/dms TransportNode OC-192 system will support 160 Gbits/sec on a single fiber using dense wavelength division multiplexing (dwdm). By using dwdm, bit-error rates of 10-15 are possible.
