Setia Haruman Technology Sdn Bhd (SHTech), a metro fiber and broadband services provider in Cyberjaya, a “cybercity” in Malaysia, has chosen Transmode to supply optical transport equipment for a new MPLS-TP-based network.
Cyberjaya is Malaysia's first IT-themed cybercity within the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC Malaysia). The MSC Malaysia is a 750-sq-km government-designated zone between Kuala Lumpur International Airport in the south to the Petronas Towers in the north. The area will be a high-technology and multimedia investment zone as part of the country's National ICT Initiative.
SHTech serves the area via the Cyberjaya Metro Fiber Network (CMFN). The CMFN offers direct fiber connections via fiber to the building (FTTB) and fiber to the home (FTTH). The underlying infrastructure is based on a fully redundant ring architecture.
"We have chosen Transmode as our preferred optical networking supplier as the company offers a powerful combination of solutions delivering unmatched price/performance and key technical advantages, such as MPLS-TP," said Rodzi Ahmad, general manager at Setia Haruman Technology. "Transmode's outstanding ability to meet our needs combined with its strong local presence and ability to provide us with a differentiated service were also significant factors in our decision. We are confident that Transmode will not only enable us to provide our customers with a superior experience but will also enable us to continue to deliver new services to them in the long term."
Transmode will deliver its TM-Series platforms, including the Ethernet Muxponder II (EMXPII) family that supports the company's recently announced Native Packet Optical 2.0 architecture. The equipment will help enable Setia Haruman Technology to deploy new Ethernet services and increase network capacity and service flexibility cost-effectively.
Bjorn Andersson, vice president, sales, at Transmode, commented, "This substantial win is a great proof point to the progress the Transmode team has made in establishing the company as a key provider of innovative technology in the region. The Asia Pacific market is interesting in many ways and is one that we see as a key growth market for Transmode. So we are naturally very pleased with the win and the relationships that we continue to build in the region."
