Zhone selected for business services network rollout in Milan
OCTOBER 3, 2007 -- Enter Net of Italy has selected Zhone Technologies Inc. (search for Zhone) to expand its unbundled local loop (ULL) initiative. Zhone was selected by Enter Net for a core-to-door network build delivering WDM transport, ADSL2+, and Ethernet in the first mile (EFM) business access services throughout the Milan metropolitan area. With the Zhone equipment, Enter Net says it can consolidate inventories and streamline service operations under one integrated management system.
Â
"Zhone is a trusted service partner with a deep understanding of the access network," contends Ivan Botta, network division manager for Enter Net. "Zhone's multi-service access platform paired with its transport system enables Enter Net to simplify delivery of a complex range of services using an integrated system approach with a single management interface. No other vendor provides the breadth of features and applications, coupled with a highly personalized approach to services," he says.
Â
Zhone's MALC multi-service access platform provides Enter Net a consolidated solution for the full range of access services. In addition to the high-density port capacity of the MALC for EFM and ADSL2+, Zhone provides a suite of Ethernet Access Devices (EADs) to meet scaleable service needs as an end-to-end offering. And, as a full service MSAP, Enter can mix EFM, ADSL2+ and other services in the same shelf, requiring no adjunct or intermediate hub devices.
Â
In addition to superior platform agility and efficiency, Enter Net cited advanced layer network intelligence as key to the winning selection criteria. Zhone's MALC enables Enter Net to provision premium businesses services with guaranteed quality of service (QoS) tiers. In addition to ADSL2 and symmetrical EFM, with Zhone's MSAP, Enter Net also has the option of provisioning voice and digital media, says the carrier.
