NJFX links to Ashburn, VA, via United Fiber & Data

The 341-mi fiber-optic network link provides enterprises, content providers, local municipalities, and hyperscalers with an alternative to fiber-optic cables running through the heavily trafficked I-95 route.

NJFX says that its cable landing station (CLS) colocation campus this quarter will offer connectivity to Ashburn, VA, via a newly opened, diverse fiber route provided by United Fiber & Data (UFD). The 341-mi fiber-optic network link provides enterprises, content providers, local municipalities, and hyperscalers with an alternative to fiber-optic cables running through the heavily trafficked I-95 route.

Users of the NJFX can employ the new fiber network link as a primary or redundant path without having to increase distance and latency by recourse to routes that traverse further west, the two companies point out. Thee users also will have access to the four submarine cables that land at the campus, including TGN1, TGN2, Seabras, and HAVFRUE/AEC2. These submarine networks offer access to other points in North America, as well as Europe, South America, and the Caribbean.

NJFX has developed a critical mass in terms of our connectivity ecosystem, and we look forward to further growth and expanded capabilities of up to 600G from UFD.”
