Fiber-based business services provider Everstream says it expects to quadruple its planned investment in fiber footprint in and around Columbus, OH, over the levels initiated when it first entered the market in August 2019. The fiber network operator says it has invested $88 million in the market and constructed 875 fiber route miles compared to its originally planned $24 million investment and 580 fiber route miles.

Everstream adds that it expects to deploy another 475 miles of fiber infrastructure through the end of 2022. This will mean a total of 1,350 route miles in the Columbus and Dayton areas. Overall, Everstream expects its total investment in the Columbus market to reach $100 million by year-end.

“With strong economic and population growth, Columbus has become one of the fastest-growing cities in the Midwest,” said Everstream CEO Brett Lindsey. “Everstream’s efforts in the Columbus market reflect our commitment to meet this burgeoning demand with a high-capacity fiber network that delivers the level of reliability today’s businesses require.”

Everstream provides such fiber-based services as dedicated internet access, wide area network, dark fiber, data center connectivity, and wavelengths. The company also offers direct peering with what Everstream asserts is all major carriers and cloud hyperscalers. The company currently is offering converged internet, voice and data services at speeds of up to 100 Gbps.
