Fiber-optic training specialists The Light Brigade, a division of AFL, has taken the wraps off of a Fiber Optics for Pro A/V training course designed to meet the needs of the pro A/V and broadcast communities. The course targets those who design, install, maintain, and troubleshoot fiber-optic systems and spans for such video-related applications.
This three-day course includes 12 hours of classroom instruction and another 12 hours of hands-on fiber optic training, including system testing and troubleshooting. The course also covers fiber handling, fiber-optic cable preparation and terminations, as well as inspection, cleaning, testing, and troubleshooting of cables.
The Fiber Optics for Pro A/V course will be previewed at Infocomm 2013 in Orlando, FL, as the short course “ST107: Fiber Optics for the Pro A/V Market.” It will be held Tuesday, June 11, from 8 AM to 3:30 PM.
“Educating the audio visual and broadcast professional in both the knowledge and hands-on skills related to fiber optics was a core target in the design and development of the course,” stated Jim Clodfelter, marketing manager for The Light Brigade. “After collaborating with InfoComm International, we developed a class designed specific to the industry inclusive of InfoComm Recertification Units.”
After the InfoComm preview, regularly scheduled classes will be held in several cities beginning in July. The Light Brigade will hold the classes in Orlando, Dallas, Las Vegas, Atlanta, Chicago, San Francisco, New York, and Los Angeles. In addition to the standard course, custom classes are also available.
