The lst242x family of 1300-nm distributed-feedback transmitters operates at 622 Mbits/sec. The device suits short-, medium-, and long-distance networks. The coaxial pigtailed laser transmitter couples light to singlemode fiber and comes in a coaxial-cable package, as well as an 8-pin dil housing that incorporates additional RF matching circuitry. Side-mode suppression ratio is >-30 dB. The unit operates from -40 to +85C and has a threshold current of 15 mA. Target applications include long-distance telecommunications, fiber-in-the-loop, sonet/sdh, telecommunications, and digital cable TV.
