M/A-COM Technology Solutions PIN limiter diode targets S-Band and L-Band

M/A-COM Technology Solutions Inc. has introduced the MADL-011008, a silicon PIN limiter diode designed for S- and L-Band medium signal applications such as low-noise amplifiers (LNAs), detectors, and mixers. The MADL-011008 is built to provide lower insertion loss at zero bias than competing alternatives.

Lwmacom031413M/A-COM Technology Solutions Inc. has introduced the MADL-011008, a silicon PIN limiter diode designed for S- and L-Band medium signal applications such as low-noise amplifiers (LNAs), detectors, and mixers. The MADL-011008 is built to provide lower insertion loss at zero bias than competing alternatives.

The device offers CW flat leakage of 16 dBm and spike leakage of 0.5 erg in a 1.2x1.5-mm PDFN. Operating between the 50-MHz to 4-GHz frequency range, typical frequency band insertion loss is 0.15 dB, input return loss is 20 dB, and output return loss is also 20 dB. Meanwhile, the diode limiter exhibits +40-dBm peak and +30-dBm CW power in that frequency range.

“The MADL-011008 is ideally designed to provide lower insertion loss at zero bias for passive limiter control circuits,” said Paul Beasly, product manager at M/A-COM Tech. “Furthermore, the lower flat leakage power and fast signal recovery time make this limiter a very high performing small-size solution.”

Production quantities and samples of MADL-011008 are available from stock.
