PHOTODETECTOR ARRAY

June 1, 2000

A 12-channel photodetector array for use in 2x Fibre Channel and datacom networks capable of data rates up to 3125 Gbit/s per channel integrates a 1 × 12 array of photodetectors on a single gallium arsenide (GaAs) substrate and operates at 850 nm with a polarity independent architecture. The metal-semiconductor-metal technology integrates all 12 channels on a single die and achieves targeting responsivity in excess 0.4 A/W.
