August 2, 2005 Minneapolis, MN -- Alltel Communications Products announced today that it has selected ADC's OmniReach product line as its premium FTTX solution. Alltel says that combining ADC's passive and active optical components into its product portfolio will enable telecommunications providers with access to a complete, end-to-end connectivity platform.

ADC's FTTX platform includes wavelength division multiplexers, fiber distribution terminals, and fiber access terminals, including the company's recently introduced OmniReach Multi-Fiber Service Terminal (MST). Designed for optical access networks, the MST features the company's "ruggedized" OptiTap connector housings. Available in 2, 4, 6, 8, and 12 port options, the company says the MST is designed to withstand a wide variety of outside plant conditions.

"The MST is yet another example of ADC's innovation and responsiveness to customer requirements in the FTTX marketplace," comments Scott Evans, director of marketing for Alltel Communications Products.

"Alltel Communications Products selected ADC because OmniReach solutions are the right choice for their customers," concludes Tom Kampf, director of product management for ADC's FTTX Solutions unit. "This line is designed from the ground-up to meet the unique requirements of FTTX networks."
