The CY7B952 clock and data-recovery transceiver suits atm and sonet/sdh applications. The unit is used for wan switches, repeaters, routers, and terminal multiplexers. The transceiver prevents clock drifting during periods where there is no incoming data, thereby avoiding out-of-lock errors. The internal circuitry allows for a self-test loop-back mode that eliminates the building of external testing connections. The device complies with Bellcore and itu jitter specifications for 155.52-Mbit/sec serial sonet data streams and costs $33.50 in 1000-piece lots.
