January 9, 2002--Photon Advanced Technologies LLC has introduced its new line of fiber stubs, used in the transmitter end and the receiver end of transceivers to capture light without the use of fusion splicing.

Photon Advanced Technologies LLC has introduced its new line of fiber stubs, used in the transmitter end and the receiver end of transceivers to capture light without the use of fusion splicing.

Using fiber stubs enables a more compact package design and resolves fiber-handling issues in transceiver packaging, claims the company. Another benefit is improved safety, due to the reduction of stray light emission inside the package.

Using premium component materials, Photon ensures a premium fiber stub end product. Photon Advanced Technologies' uses premium component materials and proven polishing techniques that guarantee superior optical performance, say company representatives. Fiber stubs can be polished on both ends using flat, angled flat, PC, or APC polishes.

Fiber stubs can be ordered in a receptacle assembly, if required. Fiber stubs can also be used in field-terminated connectors.

Photon Advanced Technologies (San Diego and Ottawa, Canada) manufactures specialty fiber-optic cable assemblies, transceiver fiber stubs. The company also provides connectorization services and distributes passive fiber-optic components. For more information, visit the company's Web site at www.photontech.com.
