Pirelli debuts pluggable 120-km XFP at ECOC

SEPTEMBER 14, 2007 — Pirelli Broadband Solutions, of the Pirelli Group, will expand its pluggables market offering with a 120-km XFP optical transceiver, which will launch at ECOC, Booth 15093.

SEPTEMBER 14, 2007 — Pirelli Broadband Solutions, of the Pirelli Group, will expand its pluggables market offering with a 120-km XFP optical transceiver, which will launch at ECOC, Booth 15093.

The transceiver is compliant with the ITU-T G.959.1 recommendation. It targets metro TDM and WDM applications, transmitting signals without dispersion compensation units, up to 120-km. The Pirelli XFP product family features dispersion tolerance levels for 80- to 200-km distances. The 120-km transceiver supports SONET/SDH, 10-Gbit Ethernet, and FEC networks.
