Corning OTI announces 980nm pump lasers for terrestrial applications

May 25, 2001
May 25, 2001--Stemming from several years of experience in semiconductor devices, Corning OTI introduced the BGL-03 pump laser module with a new high power chip.

Stemming from several years of experience in semiconductor devices, Corning OTI introduced the BGL-03 pump laser module with a new high power chip. The device guarantees an output power of 350 mW that makes it the right choice for future generation Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier in the more advanced DWDM Systems.

The module can be wavelength stabilized with a Fiber Bragg Grating in the whole spectrum range to fit any different EDFA designs. A new package has been developed to make the Corning OTI Pump Laser a versatile solution for the most severe customer's requirements.

This is just a step in the direction of quickly increasing the optical output power of the 980nm pump lasers. Corning OTI also plans to launch even more powerful and reliable laser modules on the market in the near future.
