NOVEMBER 7, 2006 -- JDSU (search for JDSU) has been chosen as a formal test and measurement partner for the Alcatel (search for Alcatel) IPTV "ecosystem." Included in the agreement are JDSU's IPTV test, monitoring, and analysis products.
By forming this relationship with JDSU, Alcatel is demonstrating their commitment to reduce time-to-market, lower development costs, and minimize risks for IP-based video service offerings, the test equipment vendor asserts
JDSU's relationship with Alcatel includes its QT-200, QT-600, and QT-1100 test heads as well as its HST-3000 handheld field tester. JDSU's carrier-grade, scalable, multi-service test heads detect patterns of quality of service (QoS) degradation through proactive traffic monitoring and, from a centralized location, quickly segment the network to identify the source of the problem. The JDSU HST-3000 handheld triple-play services tester is designed to meet the test needs of field technicians who install and maintain access networks, including higher bit-rate triple-play services like IPTV and HDTV.
"JDSU is honored to be recognized by Alcatel as a best-in-class test and measurement vendor for IP video," said John Peeler, president of JDSU's Communications Test & Measurement group. "We look forward to working as a formal partner in the effective delivery of Alcatel's IP-based video services around the globe by providing scalable IP video test solutions that enable the deployment of video services and the promise of IPTV."
