Valpey Fisher unveils jitter attenuator for SONET, DWDM, 10-GbE and FEC applications
July 5, 2006 Hopkinton, MA -- Valpey Fisher recently launched its VFJA100 jitter attenuator, designed for specific applications in SONET/SDH/ATM, DWDM line card, 10-Gigabit Ethernet, and Forward Error Correction (FEC). According to the company, the VFJA100 provides an output frequency of up to 1 GHz with ultra low jitter of <0.200 p/sec.
"The new VFJA100 is an important addition to the Valpey Fisher Timing Modules product line," contends Walt Oliwa, vice president of R&D at Valpey Fisher. "This timing module features an internal synthesizer that locks to an input reference clock and multiplies it to the desired output frequency," he explains. "The output frequency is determined by a VCXO designed for a wide pull range, and an internal voltage regulator offers improved stability and ultra low jitter performance. The VFJA100 meets OC-192 jitter transfer, generation, and tolerance."
The VFJA 100 is available in a low profile surface mount package.
