OptoTest offers OP925 continuous-wave return loss and insertion loss meter

May 7, 2020
It differs from other members of the OptoTest line in that it performs RL measurements via the continuous-wave reflectometry method (OCWR or CW). IL measurements follow the standard continuous-wave method.

OptoTest has further expanded its roster of insertion loss (IL) and return loss (RL) test instruments with the OP925. The instrument offers measurement of IL, RL, and optical power for single-mode or multimode patch cords. It differs from other members of the OptoTest line in that it performs RL measurements via the continuous-wave reflectometry method (OCWR or CW). IL measurements follow the standard continuous-wave method.

The OP925 is fully functional via front panel, which features a display that OptoTest describes as easy to use. The instrument will support dual-wavelength IL and RL testing. It also is compatible with the OptoTest Software Development Kit (OPL-SDK), which enables users to create custom programs to control the OP925 in a variety of languages.

The unveiling of the OP925 follows the recent introduction of the OP940-CSW, a compact insertion loss (IL) and return loss (RL) test system for MPO/MTP requirements (see “OptoTest offers OP940-CSW MPO/MTP insertion loss and return loss test system”).
