The instrument features a dynamic range of +8 dBm to -80 dBm and is suitable for both laboratory and production environments.

Santec Corp. says it now offers the OPM-200 bench-top power meter. The instrument features a dynamic range of +8 dBm to -80 dBm and is suitable for both laboratory and production environments.

The OPM-200 can be configured with up to four detectors, either panel mounted or remote-head with up to 10 m of range. An InGaAs detector enables measurements from 840 nm to 1700 nm, while the integrating sphere option accommodates multifiber connectors or wide-area beam applications. The power meter uses the company’s patented “easy on easy off” SD slide detector adapters available for a wide range of fiber-optic connectors.

Other features include free space detectors, 1-MHz sampling with a user-selectable averaging time between 50 µsec and 1 sec, a buffered output of up to 128,000 data points, external trigger for executing a data capture, and analog outputs. Paired with the simple programming with SCPI calls via USB/Ethernet, these features make the OPM-200 easy to integrate into an optical alignment or automated process on the assembly line, Santec asserts.
