July 5, 2006 Atsugi-City, Japan -- Anritsu has announced the strengthening of its service assurance operations with the establishment of a new Service Assurance Division on June 28, 2006. This group will operate under the Anritsu A/S company (formerly NetTest).
With the rise of triple-play services, diversification in network use is increasing, note company representatives. Previously independent networks now are being consolidated for multiple service provision. As next-generation networking takes off, maintenance and management of quality of service (QoS) will become the top priority of any network provider.
As division general manager Yasuyuki Oguma explains, separating the Service Assurance Division from the existing IP Network Measurement Division will enable Anritsu to provide improved speed and efficiency in meeting the unique QoS requirements of each individual customer. The Service Assurance Division will form the core of the Anritsu group focused on next-generation networking. With a combination of monitoring, wireless, and IP networking technologies, the division will strive to develop new measurement solutions to increase customer satisfaction. Anritsu says it plans to invest in excess of $10 million per year to grow this important business segment.
Using existing protocol analysis and network monitoring offerings--including MasterClaw, NetClaw, and Compass--as a backbone, the Service Assurance Division will offer network monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization capabilities in test equipment targeted at the global network market.
The new Service Assurance Division was established on June 28, 2006, and is headquartered in Brondy, Denmark. An additional development site is located in Rome. The division employs 170 people.
