VIAVI Solutions: VIAVI Timing Expansion Module

Feb. 6, 2022
The VIAVI Timing Extension Module, or TEM2, provides network engineers the ability to conduct frequent, if not continuous, checks on their networks to manage inter-cell interference.
The VIAVI Timing Extension Module Version 2, or TEM2, provides network engineers the ability to conduct frequent, if not continuous, checks on their networks to manage inter-cell interference. Together with the T-BERD-5800 or the OneAdvisor 800, the TEM2 provides network engineers the tests to keep their networks in sync. The TEM2 is VIAVI’s second generation timing module, and it features a GNSS antenna and a miniature atomic clock (MAC) to ensure nanosecond-accurate measurements even when a satellite signal is not present and the module is running in holdover. The TEM2 also performs 1588v2 (PTP) measurements delivered in nanosecond-accurate time measurements.

Judge’s Comment: “Accurately timing will be a critical component in future networks so having this type of testing capability will be important.”
