Harmonic’s CableOS FTTx technology converges FTTH PON and HFC DOCSIS networks, enabling operators to flexibly and sustainably meet growing high-bandwidth demands. It enables reduced hardware, space, power, and cooling costs and features a virtualized CMTS, a virtual BNG, virtual OLT, and cloud-native technologies that radically reduce the amount of hardware required, simplifying infrastructure upgrades and scaling capacity with less hardware investment. Harmonic asserts the CableOS FTTx offering can lower space, power, and cooling costs by up to 75% and enable a reduction in total cost of ownership (TCO) of more than 60%.
