Ciena: WaveLogic 5 Nano 100G – 400G Universal QSFP-DD

Feb. 7, 2023
Ciena says its WaveLogic 5 Nano 100G-400G Universal QSFP-DD represents the highest reach-capacity in the smallest pluggable transceiver area and power envelope based on the highest baud coupled with a +4-dBm optical output power.
Ciena says its WaveLogic 5 Nano 100G-400G Universal QSFP-DD represents the highest reach-capacity in the smallest pluggable transceiver area and power envelope based on the highest baud coupled with a +4-dBm optical output power, all integrated within a QSFP-DD package. The module is the smallest footprint 400G high-performance coherent modem available with the greatest flexibility for support across a range of network architectures and photonic line systems courtesy of the embedded EDFA and TOF, the company adds. Another differentiator is the support for diverse operator deployment requirements.

Judge’s Comment: “Ciena has always been a leader in coherent DSP development so it is great to see them leverage this capability in new products that are not limited to use in only their products. This product will support a wide range of use cases and provide flexibility to end-users.”
