Altice USA (NYSE: ATUS), a subsidiary of Altice N.V. (Euronext: ATC, ATCB) formed through the European-based operator's recent series of acquisitions, has combined its Lightpath, Optimum Business, and Suddenlink Business brands to form Altice Business. The new business unit will standardize its product portfolio across the three previously independent organizations to create a national provider of data, voice, video, and managed services for business customers.

Altice Business will serve more than 375,000 businesses across 21 states. Its network includes more than 14,000 fiber-lit locations, more than 8,000 of which are located in the New York metro area. However, the company also will leverage its hybrid fiber/coax (HFC) network to offer DOCSIS-based services to businesses as well. The company has announced plans to roll fiber to the home (FTTH) across its footprint, which may prompt additional fiber-based business connections (see "Altice USA to emphasize FTTH, not DOCSIS 3.1").

Managed WiFi and Cloud Backup, available to only part of the newly combined footprint, will be the first value-added services to be offered in all 21 states Altice Business serves.

"As we introduce new products and services, Altice Business will create more value for our Lightpath, Optimum Business, and Suddenlink Business customers," said Kevin Stephens, executive vice president of Altice Business. "Looking ahead, our customers can expect increased availability of emerging managed services and robust connectivity offerings, as well as the continued enablement of new network security solutions. Further, we are committed to leveraging Altice's global scale to enable agile product innovation that will help customers drive their businesses forward."

Altice acquired the three business brands through its purchases of Cablevision and Suddenlink (see "Altice to buy Suddenlink; eyes TWC?" and "Altice completes Cablevision buy, forms Altice USA, shuffles management").
