Telehouse America, a KDDI Group company, said it will extend its partner alliance with Atlantic Metro, enabling it to supply additional IaaS services to colocation customers. The services include hybrid cloud options from bare-metal servers, object storage, and virtualized private data centers.

Telehouse, which offers data center, Internet exchange, and managed IT services, first partnered with fiber-optic network services provider Atlantic Metro in 2016 (see "Telehouse, Atlantic Metro Communications partner for cloud hosting, managed IT services"). Recently, Atlantic Metro completed acquisitions to expand its domestic data center footprint, as well as offer private, hybrid, and public cloud services. Telehouse attests that this expansion will foster promotion of these managed infrastructure services into new markets, such as SD-WAN, virtual machines (VMs), object storage, and further offerings.

Through the extended Atlantic Metro partnership, Telehouse can also provide various disaster recovery services for redundancy and sustainability, and year-round systems and network monitoring support for management of network and server infrastructure 24 hours a day to give colocated clients a more all-inclusive service.

Telehouse has 47 branded data centers in 23 cities throughout Asia, Africa, North America, and EMEA, and operates a pair of exchanges, the New York International Internet Exchange (NYIIX) and the Los Angeles International Internet Exchange (LAIIX). The company expanded its NYIIX with connections to five new locations in 2015 (see "TELEHOUSE adds connections to New York International Internet Exchange").

Owned and operated by Telehouse, NYIIX offers a cost-effective alternative to IP transit from eight different East Coast locations and is one of the Northeast's largest public peering exchanges, the company asserts. Atlantic Metro can supply its customers with access to the NYIIX through the extended Telehouse partnership.

"The demand for cloud hosting and additional IT managed services require that we supplement our own portfolio and extend our partner alliance resources to our customers here in the U.S.," states Richard Levine, Telehouse America's director of sales and marketing. "It is important to work with a partner who can offer our customers value, flexibility, and a variety of options."

Atlantic Metro delivers cloud hosting, network connectivity nationwide, and secure data center colocation to more than 1,100 customers, including Fortune 500 enterprises, healthcare organizations, legal firms, web start-ups, media, and retail.
