Regional business telecommunications services provider Hargray announced the acquisition of three colocation facilities. While the company did not say where these facilities are located, Hargray did assert they would better enable it to offer advanced data security and computer hardware storage to businesses across Georgia, South Carolina, and north Florida. These capabilities enhance Hargray’s existing facilities and growing network by providing improved access for remote and geographically redundant locations offering structural security, equipment racks, cooling, power, bandwidth, physical security and ongoing maintenance.

“We know how critical it is for businesses to back up data and house additional hardware off site while having direct access when needed,” says Randy Brogle, vice president and general manager at Hargrave. “Our colocation spaces do exactly that and we are now pleased to enhance another layer of our capabilities.”

Brogle added that the new colocation facilities will enable businesses of every size to leverage the same benefits for disaster recovery and alternative storage options, reducing business and financial risk while optimizing performance and productivity. The colocation facility acquisitions are the latest in a series of acquisitions Hargray has entered as it seeks to expand its operations (see, for example, "Hargray to buy USA Communications' Alabama footprint" and "Hargray acquires ComSouth to extend southeast network").
