SVOD smart TV app launches for ISPs in Brazil

Sept. 15, 2020
Accedo and Watch Brasil launch SVOD Smart TV App for ISPs in Brazil.

Accedo (Stockholm, Sweden) announced that it has recently worked with Watch Brasil to build, launch, and support that company's SVOD service. The video service is exclusively available to Watch Brasil’s roster of Internet Service Provider (ISP) clients in Brazil, enabling them to deliver high-quality video content to their customers across the region, and now to TVs as well.

Watch Brasil offers subscribers a mix of compelling content, including the latest international and local movies, popular series, documentaries, and children’s entertainment of many global studios, including Sony Pictures, Paramount +, MTV, Comedy Central, Noggin, Universal and Warner. The SVOD service will initially be available on Android TV devices such as Sony, TCL, Philco and Android TV BOX, with more platforms due to launch shortly, including Samsung and LG Smart TVs.

Accedo’s professional services team has worked closely with Watch Brasil to develop a video service that best suits the needs of Watch Brasil, its customers, and Brazilian consumers. Using Accedo One, a powerful SaaS platform for building and growing impactful video services, Watch Brasil is able to easily and quickly roll out changes to its live service as required.

Integration with Deep Recommender from JUMP Data-Driven Video, coupled with the Business Intelligence feature in Accedo One, means that viewers can be served highly accurate content recommendations based on tracking and analyzing content consumption and similarity patterns.

Mauricio Almeida, Co-founder, Watch Brasil, commented: “We are providing our customers, the ISPs, with compelling content and a viewing experience that continually improves is key to help them retain and attract subscribers. Accedo’s expertise and support throughout the project have been critical in enabling us to deliver an engaging video service that can be continually personalized and updated to keep subscribers happy.”

Paloma Santucci, Latin America Regional Director, Accedo, added: “The OTT market has been growing dramatically in Brazil over recent months. With the growing demand for video across multiple platforms, this service is making it easy for Internet Service Providers to tap into that market successfully.”

Accedo says it will be working with Watch Brasil over the coming months to develop more apps and extend the service to other platforms.
