Ciena's Blue Planet Inventory (BPI) is a flexible software platform that aggregates data from multiple existing operator systems and presents it in a single dynamic view. BPI provides an overview that accurately reflects the current state of multi-vendor network resources and customer services from end to end. The real-time visibility BPI provides helps cable operators simplify and accelerate key operational processes such as network planning and service fulfillment and assurance, enabling them to respond more quickly to customers' rapidly changing requirements.

Judge's Comment: "The Blue Planet Inventory system meets a direct need for inventory control while furthering the capabilities of an SDN-enabled network approach."
