Broadband Technology Report (BTR) has announced Tom Gorman, president and founder of change management specialists opXL LLC, will return as program director of the 2016 Diamond Technology Reviews.

The Diamond Technology Reviews program, now entering its 11th year, recognizes excellence in technology for cable operator networks. A panel of judges evaluates submitted entries and rates them on a scale of one to five Diamonds. BTR will announce the scores of entries that receive a rating of at least 3.5 Diamonds at this year's SCTE Cable-Tec Expo in Philadelphia.

Entries for the 2016 Diamond Technology Reviews are currently being accepted. (Find out how to participate.) The deadline for submissions is May 24.

This is the third consecutive year that Gorman will lead the program. He will be responsible for assembling the panel of judges and administering the judging process. This includes ensuring that the judges score the entries independently of the submitters' relationships with BTR.

"I'm really looking forward to being program director for the Diamond Reviews again in 2016," said Gorman. "As a past judge for many years, and as the program director for the last few, I've been impressed with the great new products that are introduced. From headend and edge, OSP and test equipment, the innovation is always impressive, and the excitement for evaluating these products is invigorating."

A 38-year veteran of the cable industry, Gorman founded opXL in January 2012 after his retirement from Charter Communications, where he was vice president of field operations. He also worked at Prime Cable, Comcast, and Jones Intercable. He was inducted into SCTE's engineering hall of fame in 2007 and was named Member of the Year in 2011. Gorman also served on SCTE's board of directors for 6 years and led the organization as chairman from 2007 to 2009.

"We are delighted that Tom has returned as our 2016 Diamond Technology Program Director," said BTR Group Publisher Rob Stuehrk. "Tom's previous work with the Diamonds program, his extensive industry experience and relationships, once again ensures the Diamond Reviews will have a judging panel of the highest caliber."
