Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA) is building a new customer support center in Charleston, SC, expected to employ more than 550 people. The center is intended to support the MSO's Xfinity video, voice and Internet services with everything from technical issues to billing questions.

The construction of the Charleston center follows the three new customer support centers Comcast is opening in Spokane, Albuquerque and Tucson, AZ. The company plans to hire more than 5,500 customer service representatives (CSRs) nationwide. Hiring for the Charleston call center is expected to begin this summer.
