Leveraging software and services SeaChange International (NASDAQ:SEAC), the BBC Store download-to-own service has begun offering a catalog of new and archived BBC programs dating back over half a century. Created by BBC's commercial division, BBC Worldwide, BBC Store debuted last month with more than 7,000 hours of content; the BBC plans to add up to 70 hours weekly from new BBC programs, plus older shows from the BBC Television Archive.

SeaChange provides the back office functions for metadata management, as well as supporting content curation, through its cloud-based OTT platform. The store is available via laptops, tablets and smartphones.
