At the annual invitation-only CableLabs Summer Conference in Keystone, CO, numerous vendors are showcasing their wares for members of the cable industry's R&D consortium. We expect to hear of more as the mountain confab progresses, but so far, some of them include:
SMK Electronics, showing a family of remote control solutions that use RF to power voice command and gesture-based navigation. The remotes use Bluetooth Smart, Wi-Fi Direct, ZigBee and RF4CE wireless technologies to power user interface (UI) options including voice command and 6-axis gesture-based navigation.
PeerApp, showcasing its virtualized content delivery platform supporting use cases around live streaming and upstream caching.
Sandvine (TSX:SVC), showing a cloud-based policy solution for SMB and enterprise customers to view, control and protect their traffic. It uses PeerApp's local content delivery capabilities.
SpectrumMax, demonstrating its CableCell voice and messaging over WiFi service and CablEnable BSS/OSS for MSO entry into the mobile and messaging space.
