At CES in Las Vegas, Rovi (NASDAQ:ROVI) announced several new products, including a guide for SD and HD DTAs, a multiscreen ad solution, and apps to control legacy set-top boxes.

The Rovi DTA Guide solution is designed to show what's on TV, tune channels directly from the program grid, set parental controls, and set language options for the guide and audio.

The new Rovi Audience Management Solution products - Ad Optimizer and Promotion Optimizer - use proprietary algorithms to analyze a variety of consumer and behavioral data. They're designed to analyze past viewer behaviors and current ad campaign results to increase the value and performance of ad inventory across linear, VOD and TV Everywhere platforms.

Rovi Remote Access Services, a new component of its Rovi Cloud Services, are designed to allow service providers and authorized third-party developers to create applications for smart TVs, phones, and tablets that can control legacy cable set-top boxes. The first capabilities of the new services are to be Remote Tuning and Remote DVR.
