At SCTE Cable-Tec Expo, Blonder Tongue Laboratories (NYSE:BDR) will be demonstrating its latest edge QAM, encoder and CATV product offerings, including HD without set-top boxes, multiple program audio services, and CATV/Pro:Idiom signal testing.The EQAM-420B with EAS is Blonder Tongue's latest edge QAM, designed to allow cable operators to aggregate multiple SD and HD programs in IP format (IGMPv3 supported) and deliver them over a standard coaxial network. The new version supports network-based SCTE-18 standard compliant Emergency Alert System (EAS) to override existing channel line-up and display alert messages. The unit is available with Clear or Pro:Idiom encrypted QAM outputs.The SDE-6S-ASI is the company's latest multi-program SD encoder/multiplexer that accepts up to six SD programs in SD-SDI and NTSC formats. The MPEG-2 encoded outputs are multiplexed into a Multi Program Transport Stream (MPTS) and simultaneously provides both ASI and IP outputs. The new encoder is designed for SCTE 30/35 ad insertion messaging, triggered by either audio cue tones or a contact closure. It's also designed to support SAP (Secondary Audio Program) and Audio Descriptor Services for blind and visually impaired subscribers.The BTPRO-1000 is a CATV test meter for measuring both digital and analog CATV and broadcast TV signals. An optional Pro:Idiom Key Recovery feature is available for Hospitality applications that employ Pro:Idiom TV sets. The option consists of a built-in frequency agile QAM modulator that connects directly to an affected Pro:Idiom TV to provide new encryption key information. It features a high capacity battery and comes with a soft carrying case, AC main and automotive chargers.
