At the Cable Show in Washington, DC, This Technology announced that it has enhanced its Alternate Content Delivery System (ACDS) for managing blackout events to also dynamically insert ads within that alternate content. Available now, the enhanced functionality is intended to give MVPDs and programming networks a scalable solution for supporting blackout requirements and managing end-to-end alternate content delivery during blackout events.Content blackouts, which are usually associated with local sporting events, typically direct subscribers to an alternative content stream, leaving operators without a way to support both blackouts and delivery of alternative content streams in IP linear environments. This Technology's ACDS is designed to let operators configure, manage and control alternate content events in IP and QAM-based environments.
