Lumos has announced a capital investment of approximately $50 million to bring its 100% fiber-optic internet service to approximately 35,000 more residents and businesses in North Carolina, across the local areas of Durham and Orange Counties.
The internet service provider's latest broadband network expansion will blanket the region with more than 600 miles of the latest fiber-optic technologies, according to a Lumos statement. The new network expansion is reflective of the company’s rapid regional development and growth ambition.

Lumos said it will begin engineering work on the new North Carolina networks immediately, with construction starting in early 2023. Residents will receive communication by mail when network construction begins.
Lumos provides 100% Fiber Optic Internet, Total Home Wi-Fi, voice, and streaming services, to nearly 200,000 homes and businesses across North Carolina and Virginia.
