Independent Show 2021: Charting the path to multigigabit broadband

Oct. 6, 2021
Endeavor Business Media's own Stephen Hardy, editorial director and associate publisher of Broadband Technology Report and Lightwave, will take part in a panel session entitled, "The Path to Multigigabit Broadband: The Where, Why and When."

Join us today from 1:35 - 2:20 p.m. during this year's virtual The Independent Show 2021, an invitation-only cable broadband industry event for ACAC and NCTC member operators, when Endeavor Business Media's own Stephen Hardy, editorial director and associate publisher of Broadband Technology Report and Lightwave, will take part in a panel session entitled, The Path to Multigigabit Broadband: The Where, Why and When.

As set up by the panel session's summary:

The surging need for reliable broadband has brought us closer than ever to implementing multigigabit broadband on a national scale. Exploring how to understand community usage patterns to help drive decisions around multigigabit broadband, this panel discussion will dive into the benefits and drawbacks of HFC vs. PON/fixed and distributed systems.

This session offers an unbiased glimpse into the future of fiber, including the customer landscape and timeline for adopting multigigabit broadband, through a discussion between three NCTC Supplier Partners who have experience implementing multigigabit broadband with both HFC and PON.

Whether tweaking and updating systems to go fiber deep for the arrival of 10G or continuing to deploy fiber directly to the home, attendees will walk away from the session with a clear understanding of which path is best for their organization to continue meeting the evolving needs of customers as well as improved awareness of the competitive landscape.

Additional speakers at the panel session will include: Ryan McCowan - CTO Americas, Adtran; Todd Gingrass - Vice President - Solutions Architectures, CCI Systems; and John Ulm - Engineering Fellow, CommScope.
