Spectrum Enterprise, the business services arm of Charter Communications (NASDAQ:CHTR), announced the national availability of its Managed SD-WAN service with the capability of stitching together SD-WAN networks and Ethernet networks. The Managed SD-WAN service is designed and delivered using a software defined networking (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV) platform that is integrated into the Spectrum Enterprise fiber network across the United States.

The Managed SD-WAN service covers the implementation - from design and installation to portal-based network visibility and dedicated, 24/7 monitoring and support. The service is available in a number of configuration options to meet enterprise clients' needs, including Layer 3, Layer 2 and hybrid service configurations along with the ability to use and optimize multiple connections at each site. Additionally, an integrated, virtual security service is available.

"Our new Managed SD-WAN service delivers on our promise of choice and flexibility by enabling enterprises to grow and evolve their networks via our next-generation SDN/NFV platform," said Greg King, senior vice president, Product, Marketing and Strategy, Spectrum Enterprise. "Not only does this platform allow clients to securely integrate existing network sites and SD-WAN sites, it also enables us to rapidly deploy new capabilities for additional use cases and future network solutions."

Features include:

  • Managed SD-WAN and connectivity bundles
  • Application visibility and prioritization
  • Integration with existing Ethernet networks
  • Management portal
  • Integrated virtual security

Spectrum Enterprise has deployed a virtualized, edge compute platform that is integrated into its fiber network across its national footprint. This platform is designed to be scalable and geo-redundant, and to enable efficient delivery of WAN solutions and managed network services with low-latency access from any client location.

The Spectrum Enterprise Managed SD-WAN service incorporates technologies from Cisco for services orchestration, Fortinet for virtual security, Netcracker for VNF management and Nokia's Nuage Networks for SD-WAN technology.

The Spectrum Enterprise Managed SD-WAN Service is available nationally with simplified pricing and bundles with multiple connection options.
