Comcast Business (NASDAQ:CMCSA) is having busy times. The company's business services arm is launching 100 Gbps speeds in Florida and installing 50 Mbps services in Lebanon County, PA.

Comcast Business is expanding its fiber network in Sarasota and Southwest Florida to offer local businesses Ethernet services with speeds up to 100 Gbps. This is the company's second major expansion announcement in Florida in less than a month, following its August announcement in Tallahassee. Comcast has continually expanded its network in Florida since it began delivering multi-gig (up to 10 Gbps) Ethernet service to businesses in the state in 2011.

"Multi-gigabit speeds and reliability are critical for businesses today, and in a thriving area like Sarasota, those needs are growing exponentially," said Reggie Scales, vice president, Business Services, for the Comcast Florida Region. "Not only will our network deliver the highest speed and capacity to area businesses, it's also built to easily accommodate future growth in Sarasota and across Southwest Florida."

In Pennsylvania, Lebanon County is using Comcast Ethernet services to connect six municipal sites across the region. In addition to linking all locations back to the County Court House for better internal collaboration and data warehousing, the Ethernet network is the infrastructure behind the county's 911 emergency response service, which impacts more than 133,000 residents.

Comcast Business installed a six-site Ethernet Network Service with network capacity of up to 50 Mbps that connects five County offices - the Area Agency on Aging, the Adult Probation Office, Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities Office, Community Action Partnership and Correctional Facility - back to the Court House. The Court House separately has an additional 50 Mbps Ethernet Dedicated Internet connection to support the county's internal records management system and all online traffic for these six locations, while the Emergency Management Agency has an additional 100 Mbps Ethernet Dedicated Internet line.
