Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) is beefing up its voice portfolio with the addition of Fiber Phone. The cloud-based service, which costs $10 a month, is designed to be accessible anywhere via phone, tablet or computer. Initial rollouts will be limited, the company says, but the goal is to make the service available in all Google Fiber markets.

Features include unlimited local and nationwide calling, and the same rates as Google Voice for international calls, number portability, call waiting, caller ID, and 911 services. It can also transcribe voicemail messages and then send them as texts or e-mails.

Google has offered other forms of voice service for some time, including web-based VoIP tied to the user's gmail account.
