ZyXEL Communications has unveiled the EMG3425, a gigabit Ethernet wireless AC2200 WiFi gateway intended for the service provider market, both cable/HFC and FTTH. The EMG3425 comes with 4x4 802.11ac and 3x3 802.11n configuration, designed for gigabit homes.

The CPE is designed for combined dual-band speeds of up to 2,200 Mbps with 1.7 Gbps over 5 GHz 11ac and 450 Mbps over 2.4 GHz 11n. It's built on 802.11ac Wave 2, offering MU-MIMO and Explicit Beamforming technologies, and has up to four SSIDs to create separate WLAN networks for video, data and guests.

It also is designed to support TR-069 remote management and TR-181 WiFi diagnostics, and to interoperate with Automatic Configuration Server (ACS) vendors. Built-in 802.1q port-based VLAN and DHCP features, QoS and IGMP support are intended to optimize the EMG3425 for triple-play service delivery, provisioning voice, video and data services.
